Gracias a todos los Ticos

Un viaje es medio viaje si no se puede conocer a las personas que habitan el lugar y hablar con ellos para tratar de comprender su idiosincracia.

Desde ese punto de vista, mi viaje a Costa Rica fue viaje completo y más, porque siempre tuve la suerte de poder compartir y disfrutar de la hospitalidad del Costarricense, generoso y cálido, que me acompañó durante toda la estadía.

A trip is half a trip if you cannot get to know the people living in the country and talk to them in order to understand their lifestyle.

From that point of view my trip to Costa Rica was a sucess and more, because I always had the pleasure of sharing and enjoying the Tico's hospitality. People in Costa Rica are generous and warm and I want to thank them for all their assistence during my trip.

Doña Carmen me alojó, alimentó y aconsejó de la mejor manera. Organizó encuentros, excursiones y fue siempre una compañera dispuesta a contar, aclarar y sobre todo escuchar, a pesar de que no estaba bien de salud. ¡Muchas Gracias!

Doña Carmen hosted me at her place, she also gave me plenty of food and advise. She organized meetings, tours and was always the best partner when it came to telling and explaining, but also to listening, although her health was giving her trouble. Thank you very much!

Sus hijos y nietos no se quedaron atrás y me pasearon y guiaron en más de una oportunidad. Son guías de lujo porque conocen y aman su país.

Her sons and grandsons were also there for me. They drove me around and guided me more than once. They are the perfect guides because they don't only know the country, they love it!

Doña Sole me dio su famoso "patitur" - una caminata a pie recorriendo las principales atracciones de la ciudad capital que dura tanto como uno sea capaz de caminar. Ella es incansable. También puso a toda su familia a mi disposición. Don Paco, su marido, quien siempre tiene tiempo para reir y ayudar. El nieto de ambos, que es buzo y oficia como guía para quienes quieren explorar las profundidades de Costa Rica. La hija de ambos, que los visita cada semana. Y Motty... la inolvidable Motty. La perrita más feliz del mundo, contínua fuente de alegría y energía.

Doña Sole gave me her famous "patitour" - a complete walking tour visiting most of the attractions of the capital city that lasts for hours!! She is never tired! Don Sole put also the whole family to my service. Paco, her husband, who is always ready to help and to joke. Their grandson who is a diver himself and gives diving tours to tourists. Their daughter, who visits them every week. And Motty, well, Motty is unforgettable. She's the happiest dog ever and a continuous source of fun and energy.

Son tantos los buenos amigos y los buenos momentos que no alcanzarían varios blogs para recordarlos a todos. GRACIAS de todo corazón, el viaje fue inolvidable gracias a todos y cada uno de ustedes.

There were so many good friends and wonderfull moments that ten blogs would not be enough to express them my gratitud. THANK YOU from the deepest of my heart. This trip was great just because of each and everyone of you!

Costa Rica con C de café, de cacao y de colibríes

Costa Rica es un país increible. Conjuga volcanes, playas y selvas como ningún otro, pero lo más maravilloso es, sin dudas, la gente. El tico es amigable y tranquilo. Siempre disponen de tiempo para ayudar al extranjero y compartir su delicioso café con un buen chocolate.

Costa Rica is a wonderful country. It combines volcanos, beach and cloud forests like no other country in the world. However the most incredible part of Costa Rica is the people. The "Tico" is very friendly and calm. They always seem to have time to help a tourist and share a good cup of coffee or a piece of chocolate.

Mi recomendación es hacer de la Monteverde el centro de la estadía y, desde allí, recorrer y disfrutar las maravillas naturales del país. Monteverde es el corazón de la selva nubosa, hay cantidad de reservas naturales, mariposarios, parques naturales, ranarios y demás lugares interesantes que visitar. Me enamoré de los puentes colgantes, que permiten ver la selva a vuelo de pájaro.

My recommendation is to make Monteverde your exploration base. From there it is really easy to make roundtours enjoying the natural wonders of the country. Monteverde is placed in the centre of the cloud forest and there are many national parks, butterflies houses, frog ponds and tourist attractions you can visit. I felt in love with hunging bridges, that offer the unsual "bird view" of the trees.

Todo lo mencionado empalidece cuando una se encuentra con su primer colibrí. En este país los colibríes son XL. La variedad y el colorido son los tradicionales, pero el tamaño y la cantidad asombran. Disfrutar de una galería de colibríes es una experiencia maravillosa y única que atesoraré por siempre y que considero imposible de transmitir en todo su explendor. No hay palabras que se aproximen a la belleza tornasolada en movimiento y la energía que transmiten los colibríes en Costa Rica. A todos los que puedan, mi recomendación es VAYAN, VISITEN, RECORRAN COSTA RICA.

Everything fades when you meet your first humming bird in Costa Rica. Here humming birds are XL. Diverse and colourful, humming birds in Costa Rica are huge! And there are so many of them, that you don't know which one to photograph first. To enjoy a humming bird gallery is a wondertime in your life experience, wich I find hard to describe and impossible to explain in all its glory. The shiny beauty in motion and the energy this animals transmit is unique. Therefore my recommendation to all my good friends is GO, VISIT COSTA RICA!
