La Comunidad China y la Comunidad Taiwanesa en Buenos Aires se turnaron para celebrar el Año Nuevo con gran despliegue de atracciones y todos los acompañamos con entusiasmo.
Las calles de Belgrano fueron recorridas por entusiastas dragones, que bailaban para alegría de todos. Los niños estaban fascinados con las imponentes figuras y sus movimientos.
Las pocas cuadras que componen el barrio chino de Buenos Aires rezumaban aromas, música y alegría. Gran cantidad de puestos callejeros ofrecían una amplia variedad de comindas tradicionales, que iban desde las empanaditas hasta las mini-brochettes de "oveja" (cordero, para nosotros) y el témpura de salmón. Para refrescarse nada mejor que un té rojo o un té verde ¡y si es con jugo de maracuyá mejor!
Para los más exigentes, sugiero visitar BudaBA, un restaurante ambientado con todo detalle, que ofrece un menú refinado y esmerada atención.
Así dio inicio el año de la Rata de Tierra, que se considera propicio para iniciar proyectos y concretar reuniones y reencuentros, dado que la Rata fue el primer animal que se postró a los pies de Buda e inicia el ciclo de 12 años. Los nacidos bajo el signo de la rata de tierra son realistas, honestos, modestos y disciplinados. Se espera entonces un año tranquilo y lleno de posibilidades para quienes tengan estas características.
The Chineese and the Taiwaneese Community in Buenos Aires took turns to celebrate the New Year with many attractions and we all joined in.
Powerful dragons run through the streets of Belgrano and danced for all of us. Children were mesmerized by this gigantic animals and their movements.
Buenos Aires Chinatown is just 400 meters long, but many people were there enjoying the smell of good food, the music and the joy.
The streetstands showed a wide selection of traditional chineese food. You could find everything, from the well-known "rolls" to the nice lamb mini-brochettes (they called them sheep-mini-brochettes!) and the tempura. Red tea and green tea were the favourite refreshments.
They taste even better if you add maracuyá juice to them!
The Year of the Earth rat is auspicious to start projects and gather people together, because the rat was the first animal to jump at the feet of Budah and starts a new cicle of 12 years. People born as earth rats are realistic, honest, modest and show a lot of discipline. It is going to be a calm year, full of possibilities for people with this characteristics.
