My argentinian friends might be still laughing at the title. Why should I clearify "Rosario-Argentina"? Everybody knows I love Rosario and I'm fascinated by their emblematic "El Cairo", the best bar in Rosario, well known because of one of his famous fans "Fontanarosa". However there are friends that live abroad, and knowing me they can also imagine that I could fled the city for a week to spend some time in Egypt without previous notice.

The perfect excuse to visit Rosario was a combination of the celebration of the Che, who has now a new park and statue devoted to him in the town that saw his birth and a birthday party celebrated by a dear friend. The roads were closed and the people were blocking different points of the cities. Nevertheless I took the bus with illusion and conviction on my side! I was going to attend both celebrations. Nothing could stop me! And so it was, I arrived safe and sound to Rosario with just an hour delay, due to problems in our bus terminal in Retiro and not to difficulties on the road.

Rosario is with the farmer's protest, so I could read on every single shoppingwindow on their main street. In the bars everybody was commenting the horrible repression in Gualeguaychú against one of the leaders from the protest. People were shocked at the "Pan con manteca" a lovely old bar. The Che's celebration was set for 4 pm that afternoon. The monumental statue (1 ton) was created by a young, local artist, who used the bronce from keys and other objects donated by the people from all Latin America. However many people in Rosario believe that the real "Che Gevara monument" will remain the mural in the ant's park, were the fight against the system goes on.
The park is far away, but it's also wide and symbolic. The old train roads were used to represent the Che's road and his will to unite our suffering America. Everywhere I could see calm people, happy and celebrating. I could walk in the crowd without any fear and enjoy the singing and sharing conversations, while taking pictures. It is a real joy to be part of this day!

And what happened to my visit to El Cairo, could somebody ask. Well, there it was, great, full with history and good beverages to comfort a worried soul. I took a hot chocolate and forgot the chilly wind and the injustice of the farmer's situation. There is no other bar like El Cairo.
